Description and History A member of the famous
"Tribal" class heavy destroyers, Haida was commissioned in 1943.
During WW2, she operated most successfully in the Bay of Biscay and on the
Murmansk Run (Arctic Convoys). She was said to be, pound for pound, the
most successful warship in WW2. Haida served in the RCN post-war, being
modernized several times during this period. Decommissioned in 1963,
Haida was laid up in Toronto, Ontario, as a floating memorial, a function
which she is still fulfilling. This drawing represents the ship as at
1944. 1/96 SCALE – 47.1” X 4.7” 2-SHEET PLAN VMM-HAIDA1 PRICE: $ 47.50 |
