SAN FRANCISCO LIGHTSHIP WLV-612 |
||
These plans show the lightship San Francisco (WLV-612) while in U.S. Coast Guard service. She stood watch off the treacherous San Francisco Harbor entrance bar. Later, she was re-named Lightship Nantucket and served off Nantucket Island, Mass. WLV-612 also served off Blunts Reef, Calif. and at Portland, Maine. WLV-612 was launched in 1950 and was retired in 1983 after finally serving as a USCG law enforcement cutter, painted in traditional USCG white with the racing stripe on the bow. The plans are drawn to 1/8"=1' scale (1/96th) and have an overall hull length of 16". The plans include the Outboard Profile, Inboard Profile, 4 Cross Sections, 2nd Deck, Platform Deck, Hold, Tops of Deckhouse and Wheelhouse, Main Deck and the Body Plan. These are copies of the official USCG blueprints for this ship on 5 sheets; taken from a first generation print, slightly dark, but definitely useable. Print is black line on white paper. Note: Photo #2 shows the WLV-612 while assigned to Blunts Reef station. Photo #3 shows the Over falls Lightship (a sister ship to the San Francisco) en route to her station in rough seas. 1/96 SCALE PRICE:
