TRADE SHOWS
Once again the WRAM Show is coming up fast. For those who live around or travel to White Plains, NY, the dates of the show this year is: February 24, 25, & 26 2006. We will again have a booth and look forward to seeing as many people as possible. For additional information: Visit: WRAM SHOW
NEW UPDATES - NEW PRODUCT(S)
We are continuing to update both websites Loyalhanna Dockyard and Taubman Plans Websites recently, you should check them out as we have added hundreds of products.
To compliment the new products we have also added numerous pictures and additional descriptions. We have also added a selection of Completed Models now availabel for sale.
We are also running a FireSale to depleat our in-stock items for the end of the year.
We have also increased our Fittings and building materials. If there are products suggestions you have, please let us know.
We are also working on the Taubman Plans website. We are adding thousands of new plans and re-organizing to make it easier to find. The U.S.C.G. and U.S. sections are already increased by over 100%. We have picked up a line of Plans from Hungary with over 1500 selections available. A new line of Japanese Navy Plans will also be added shortly.
As well as a larger selection of USCG, US, Tugboats and Foreign Warship Plans which we have acquired and will be announcing the release of soon.
When trying to build a model as accurately as possible, we have strived to carry everything you should need in order to accomplish this with your model. We have now added Photos and Reference Materials which can be exactly what you need to get that final detail. These items are on both sites and we will keep them updated daily as we are adding more photos weekly.
INFORMATION
I have been working on the "Search" features on the websites. They are now functioning properly and would assist you effortlessly when looking for what you need.
For those having any technical difficulties with your projects, remember to check out the Archived Newsletters and Technical Articles for assistance. You may just find the answer you are searching for.
NEW FITTINGS FOR S-BOAT
For those that have already purchased or are planning to purchase the 1/32 scale S-Boat Hull, we now have available the proper weapons for this ship. These are high quality, finely detailed pieces. We will be posting pictures and information in the coming weeks.
WINTER TIP
Now that many of us will be experiencing colder weather, we will most likely be spending more time in the workshop. If you workshop is in the basement, like mine, garage or other place affected by the weather, it is inevidible that your workshop temperatures will be dropping. While you can always dress warmer for the temperature, the colder climates still effect the glues and paints as well as cure times. As the temperature drops, cure times stretch out longer. If the ambient temperature of your shop is low enough, these items may not even cure at all. To combat this problem, I use a small electric space heater which sits right on my workbench. It is amazing what a small 1500 watt heater will do for you. These heaters can usually be purchased for around $20.00 at stores like home depot or walmart. If you have never tried one, give it a chance and I think you will be pleased with the results.
