JOHN R. MANTA SCHOONER

Whaler, Schooner built at Essex, MA in 1904.  
Made the last American Whaling voyage under sail, Antone J. Mandly, master out of New Bedford in 1925. As the final vestige of this history the larboard whaleboat from that vessel is now in the collection of the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
