JULY EVENT
For those within driving distance of Canton, MI, (suburb of Detroit), please consider attending the 2005 Great Lakes Regatta. This is an outdoor trade show and Regatta held in a beautiful park setting. A night run with lit buoys is also planned so this should be a good time for all.
Dates are: July 16 & 17.
NEW UPDATES - NEW PRODUCT(S)
We are updating Both Loyalhanna Dockyard and Taubman Plans Web Sites daily. We have also added to the Technical information and charts. Check back regularly for continued updates.
We have been working on updates to the Loyalhanna Dockyard Website. One major update is in the Props Section. We have re-organized the props by individual manufacturer and have updated the products according to the manufacturers changes. You will find a separate purchase button for each size prop, hand and thread in order to make it easier for the customer.
We have added and are pleased to announce the U.S re-release of Radestock Running Hardware. Radestock is Back In Production and Loyalhanna Dockyard has been named a Distributor for the entire line of Products. The line includes: Props, Struts, Rudders, Shafts and Stuffing Boxes. Keep in mind that since the manufacturer has just resumed production, they haven't built up stock piles as of yet and we are ordering as much as he has available, however, for the first few months, plan your orders ahead. A stockpile will be built up as quickly as possible.
One Final Note on Props:
We have just received a long awaited re-stocking order from the Prop Shop. For those not familiar with this brand, they are cast bronze, polished and balanced, and considered by many to be the best props available. We now have them in stock again and ready for immediate shipment. You will find these Props also updated on the website.
NEW PLANS NOW AVAILABLE
We have noticed lately that many of the people we talk to are also interested in trains. For those of you interested in trains, we also have a large (and growing daily) listing of train plans available. In addition to trains are new listings of the following: Trams, Trucks, Commuter Rail, Planes and other modes of transportation. We will be adding to this section over the next several weeks so please keep checking back.
As mentioned in previous Newsletters, we are constantly looking for new Plans to add to the already available listing. We have just added two (2) new detailed sets of Plans. The first is a 40' Airplane Personnel Rescue Boat, MK .2, in 1/16 Scale, 15 sheets incl.: lines & offsets, outboard profile/arrangement, inboard profile/arrangement, skeg/rudder, strut, and alot of detail information. The second is a 36' Reconnaissance Boat MK .2, 1/12 Scale, 15 sheets incl.: lines & offsets, outboard profile/arrangement, inboard profile/arrangement, skeg/rudder, strut, and alot of detail information.
CUSTOMER QUESTION
We are thinking of starting a new feature in our Newsletter this fall, but would like your feedback on the idea. The thought was to pick a basic beginners model such as a small tug and build it step by step. A description/explanation of construction along with photos would be included in the newsletter each month with step by step progress. This would allow us to illustrate many of the ideas we have talked about in the past and point out the various factors that need to be considered when building a model. We would appreciate your feedback on this idea, and whether or not it would be a worth while process.
